The Smart Hospitality Service uses facial recognition technology to make procedures and payments at various facilities (primarily airports and hotels) much smarter and more convenient, and your travel even smoother. We can help provide you with a more pleasant journey, not only for vacations, but for time-sensitive business trips as well.

Features of the NEC Smart Hospitality Service

  • No luggage to carry
    You can pre-check your hand-carried luggage from the airport, so you can travel empty-handed, and stress-free.
  • Smoother processing through facial recognition
    By registering your facial ID, there’s no use for a device when checking in. Our service can provide you with the convenience of facial recognition in a variety of situations, such as enabling your face to be used as your room key.
  • No need to worry about time
    You won’t need to concern yourself with checking in by a set time at the front disk. Everything is operating on IoT technology, so you can go to your room at your leisure, without ever stopping at the front desk.

    When you book a reservation at a participating hotel, your reservation information will be linked to your account.

A safe and secure system

Security control measures
Customer information, such as their image data, is administered under a completely secure system, with limited access controls. When a customer requests that their account be deleted, all information will be immediately eliminated. Furthermore, any image data recorded or filmed at the hotel during your stay will not be saved, and promptly deleted upon your checkout.

  • Can I register after arriving at the hotel?
    Depending on the hotel, you may still be able to complete the same registration procedures using a tablet or check-in device, but prior registration has the following benefits.

    • You can register on your own device, on your own free time, without having to worry about waiting in line during crowded situations.
    • When using a hotel’s device, your registration is valid only during your stay, but by registering with the app or online, you only have to enter your information for checking in once, and you won’t need to re-enter your information each time.
  • Will a photo of my face be sent to the hotel?
    Your facial information will be stored in a specially designated server in order to verify your facial ID, and the hotel’s employees and operational staff will have no knowledge about whether or not your facial data has been registered. The only person who can view the registered facial data is yourself.
